Rick’s working history includes 38 years in the printing and paper industry. Rick worked 17 years in Security Printing as Vice President - Marketing at ContinuForms, Inc. He has served as the Director of Training of the MICR Institute, a member of the ANSI X9.100 Committee and a contributor to the PSDA (formerly DMIA) Future of the Forms Industry Report and has consulted with various printing operations.
Rick’s consulting led to his association with Appleton Papers where he originally worked with Appleton’s printing customers performing “operational reviews” for companies in the USA and Canada. Rick moved on to become a Product Manager and then part of the Central Marketing Team that developed Appleton Papers’ Security business. Rick spent the last 7 years in Business Development before retiring in 2009. His duties included oversight of the Global BDM Team among other projects and a bid for the US Currency Paper.
Rick has been involved in many industry-wide initiatives – He is the Chairman of Borad of Directors North American Security Products Organization (NASPO) where he oversees business and operational matters as well the organization strtegic direction. As part of the Document Security Alliance (DSA), Rick has contributed to white papers on Birth Records Reform, Report to the Nation, Social Security Identity Reform, Selection of Security Features and Machine Readable Authentication. He is also a member of the NAPHSIS Section 3 – Minimum Standards for the Birth Certification Document Committee.
Rick sits on the ISO TC130/TC247 Joint Wokring Group on a Security Management System for Security Printing, ANSI/NASPO/DSA Minimum Security for Secity Documents and The NNSC review team fo ANSI/NASPO SA 2012.
Education: Eastern Nazarene College Chemistry; Ursinus College, BS Marketing & Finance; Southern Methodist University - CE Financial Management and Cambridge University - CE Radio Frequency Identification . Rick is accredited as a Certified Document Consultant by the PSDA.
David Lightfoot, President - Chesapeake Resource Group, Stevensville, MD
David Lightfoot is the co-founder and President of the Chesapeake Resource Group (CRG), a privately owned consulting company incorporated in Maryland, USA, in 1996. The Company operates in three distinct business areas, namely: Security Management Auditing and Consulting, Software Distribution, and Project Management.
CRG is a NASPO certified security assurance auditing organization and provides security management consulting services. CRG is an active member of the Document Security Alliance (DSA) and NASPO, and participates in the Intergraf Conference and Exhibition in Europe.
CRG is the North American distributor for a suite of Editorial software products developed for the publishing industry by SCOOP Publishware AB of Stockholm Sweden. As channel manager, CRG is responsible for appointing and managing resellers, and managing the business.
CRG provides professional project management services. CRG acted as project manager for the conversion of USA TODAY from analog to digital technology. This four year project required a change in the satellite distribution system infra structure, and the conversion of 36 domestic and 4 international printing plants to computer to plate.
Prior to creating CRG, David served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Xerox Graphic Systems based in Rye, New York. Before joining Xerox, He was a Systems Director at DuPont, Wilmington, Delaware, responsible for the sales and marketing of three subsidiary companies. David was a member of DuPont’s world-wide electronic imaging team. DuPont acquired Crosfield Electronics from De La Rue in 1989 where David served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In this role he had P&L responsibility for three of the company’s five strategic business units with revenues in the range of $120 million and a staff of 156 persons.
David gained an MBA in Marketing from the Kogod School of Business at American University, Washington DC. His prior education included a M.Sc. degree from Cranfield University in the UK. At Cranfield, he was awarded the highest recognition, in the form of The Principal’s Prize for his year. David gained his undergraduate degree in Honors Chemistry at Southampton University in the UK. He is an elected member of The Institute of Physics of London, and has published various scientific papers and patents. David is a US Citizen.
David has previously served on the Board of Directors of NASPO, The Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a private International Engineering Company, respectively. He is one of only two persons ever to have been awarded an individual GATF Intertech Award.
David and his wife Pat live on the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis in Maryland, and enjoy boating, golf, walking and international travel. They have two children living in the area.
